The Up Side of Stress: Yoga principles to create balance in life

What’s the magic word? Balance.

sarah-higgins-081-silver2We need stress in order to survive however unchecked chronic stress is bad for our physical health, our mental well-being and significantly increases risk of having a heart attack. Rushing to get it all done at home, work, in the community and for ourselves can leave us feeling “super-stressed”. Unmanaged, stress can wreck havoc on concentration, weakens the immune system, makes us cranky, damages personal relationships and can lead to burnout and depression.

The magic word is balance.

Experience exercises, introspective prompts and stress resilience building practices you can use at work, home and while out and about. Learn to set manageable goals, increase efficiency, improve flexibility, rest deeply, tune in and improve communication skills at work and in life. Learn how to properly unplug, treat your body right, distribute responsibilities, avoid over committing and discover your built in support system at home.

Sarah HigginsTeaching others to turn life’s stressors into productive energy has become the most passionate part of her teaching path.  The last thirteen years have included public classes, private sessions, corporate events, specialty workshops, retreats, training teachers and teaching students at Madison College.
