A practitioner from the age of 15, Catherine (Cass) Hanson, RYT, has waxed and waned on the path of yoga. In 2008, after coming back to her mat regularly, the transformational and healing powers of the practice began to take hold. In 2010, Cass traveled to Brazil to study with David Lurey, of San Francisco, where she earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification. More grounded than ever, Cass has been happily leading people through energetic vinyasa flow ever since. A dedicated traveler, she continues to practice and study with yoga masters near and far.

Cass has an open spirit, and creates a comfortable and nourishing environment to practice your yoga. She offers energetic flow to help free tension the body and mind. Her classes are always evolving and shifting with the seasons and local energy. Expect challenging, yet accessible vinyasa yoga, with weekly themes woven into the fabric of the flow.

Why teach at The Studio?

“I am excited to be part of The Studio, the space is intimate, inviting and is conveniently located downtown, and on the bike path. I am looking forward to the discussions that will be held here, bringing awareness to healthy living and social thought, in this multi-purpose space. I believe Kathleen is forging a new type of yoga studio, with the incorporation of discussion and thought, a unique interpretation of “body and mind.”

Cass is also one of The Studio’s Yoga Advisors.

Cass offers private yoga sessions at both The Studio locations. In these sessions she specializes in:

  • Teaching and modifying safe sun salutations and vinyasa flows.
  • Offering instruction and feedback on building an inversion practice.
  • Helping students use their yoga as a tool for emotional balance.
  • Energetic balancing, with emphasis on chakra balancing.
  • Helping students develop a personal practice plan.
